Aimee Grice

Your next Mayor for the Town of Oliver

My Vision

I'm Aimee Grice, and I'm running for Mayor of Oliver.

I want Oliver to be a place where families can afford to put down roots, where seniors can stay close to the people who matter to them, and where you don't have to leave town to see a doctor. Getting there takes a mayor who can get things done at Town Hall and bring in the outside support Oliver needs to pay for it.

That's the leadership I've spent eight years building. On council, and in the regional and provincial rooms where decisions about funding and policy get made, I've learned that the two only work together if someone is doing both.

This is what I hope for Oliver.

Experienced Leadership, Rooted in Oliver and Connected Beyond It

Policy Priorities

A community people can afford to call home

Affordability has to be part of every decision we make. That means more housing choices at every stage of life, and asking a simple question with every budget decision: can the people we serve actually afford this?

Thoughtful growth that benefits the community

Oliver will keep growing and changing. Growth should strengthen our community and pay its own way, not leave existing residents footing the bill, while we plan for what Oliver needs ten, twenty and thirty years from now.

Reliable infrastructure and responsible decision-making

Oliver faces more than $100 million in infrastructure upgrades over the next decade, water, sewer, irrigation and roads among them. I want us to plan ahead, rebuild our reserves, and pursue every funding tool available before asking residents to cover more of it alone.

A stronger local economy

A healthy Oliver needs a diverse, resilient local economy. I want to build on the strength of our agriculture, tourism, wine, construction and arts sectors, and make sure Town Hall is a constructive partner for the businesses and workers who call Oliver home.

Healthcare close to home

Access to healthcare is one of the greatest concerns facing Oliver and other rural communities. As Mayor, I'll keep advocating for reliable local healthcare, emergency services and the supports that let people stay healthy and independent close to home.

A community where people belong

I want Oliver to be a town where everyone feels seen, respected and welcome, including families, seniors, newcomers, people with disabilities and Indigenous residents. Our public spaces, programs and decision-making should be accessible to all of them.

A council that works as one team

People may not agree with every decision council makes, but they should understand how and why it was made. I want Town Hall to be accessible and transparent, with every councillor properly equipped from day one and council and staff working as one team toward the same goals for this community.
